Eosinophilia in Nasal Secretion

ABSTRACT

We have analysed 53 cases of clinically suspected allergic rhinitis, who had visited the department of otolaryngology of Seoul Red Cross Hospital from April 1979 till August 1980. The results were as follows : 1) In 30 cases (56.6%) out of the 53 cases had eosinophilia on nasal smear. 2) In 30 cases with eosinophilia on nasal smear, marked eosinophilia was noted in 8 cases (26.7%) : moderate eosinophilia, 11 cases (36.7%) ; slight eosinophilia, 4 cases (13.3%) ; no eosinophilia, 7 cases (23.3%).
