ABSTRACT

Taratomas in the neck are rare neoplasm. They make up only about 1 to 3.5% of all teratomas, which are reported to occur in approximately 1 : 20,000 to 1 : 40,000 live births. Most occur in the neonate and are benign. In contrast, cervical teratoma in adults are malignant in general. Histologically, teratomas contain all three primordial tissue layers by definition. Tratment requires surgical excision for a definitive diagnosis and symptom relief. We have experienced a case of benign cervical teratoma in 20 year-old male.
