ABSTRACT

The alternation phenomenon of congestion and decongestion of nasal airways and the status of nasal obstruction due to several diseases were studied by Glatzel's mirror. The study was performed for 92 normal persons and 6 diseased persons who complained nasal obstructive symptoms. In our study, we demonstrated that the nasal cycles were present in 64.1% of normal subjects and their mean duration of cycles were 2.39 hours. And we also noted typical obstructive findings of Glatzel's mirror in patients with nasal diseases. We found the advantages and usefulness of Glatzel's mirror in our study. So, we think that the Glatzel's mirror is the simple and easy method for determining the degree of nasal obstruction.
