ABSTRACT

Identification of anatomical landmarks and complete extenteration of the ethmoid air cells are critical points in successful intranasal ethmoidectomy for chronic ethmoiditis. The operating microscope, when used in intranasal ethmoidectomy, offers safe and successful surgery with positive identification of critical landmarks and better control of instruments under the excellent illumination and magnification, and also with better depth perception under the binocular vision.
