Temporal Bone Fracture with Facial Nerve Paralysis

ABSTRACT

The incidence of temporal bone fracture is ever increasing, parallel with needs of transportation and industrialization. Temporal bone fracture causes CSF otrorrhea, facial nerve paralysis, auditory organ damage. Thus various post-traumatic complications need the utmost attention. This paper is to report our experiences during last three years with 6 cases of temporal bone fracture(5 longitudinal and 1 transverse fracture) which we have employed the facial nerve decompression and the middle ear reconstruction. Also relationship between facial nerve damage site, degree and postoperative results are presented here.
