ABSTRACT |
The hemangioma of skeletal muscle(intramuscular hemangioma) is a distinctive lesion originating for the most part in normal skeletal muscle and represents less than 1% of all hemangiomas. The great majority of these lesions occur in muscles of the upper and lower extremity. Only approximately 14% of the lesions have presented in the head and neck where the masseter and trapezius muscles are most often the sites of involvement. Recently, we experienced a case of intramuscular hemangioma occurred in masseter muscle which was treated with surgical excision of the masseter muscle. So, we report this case with brief review of the literatures.
