A Case of the Cyst on Epiglottic Vallecula Causing Severe Dyspnea in Infant |

ABSTRACT |
The cyst of the epiglottic vallecula is relatively frequent disease but is very rare in infant. A boy, aged 50 days, who had gradually developed dyspnea with chest and substernal retraction was found to 1.5×1.0cm in sized round reddish mass in the vallecula by direct laryngoscopy. The cyst that was contained 1cc milky mucoid fluid was aspirated and partial excision with punch biopsy after tracheostomy under the general anesthesia. The postoperative course was satisfactory showing disappeared dyspnea. It is our intention to present this case with literature review.
