ABSTRACT

For the past three years from 1974 to 1976, we have observed the emergency patients who were consulted to our E.N.T. department via emergency room. The total number of the emergency patients was 21,459 and that of the patients dealt at our department was 883. Among those 295 cases(33.4%) were the patients with epistaxis, 250(28.3%) with foreign bodies, 70(7.9%), with dyspnea, 154(17.4%) with trauma, 30(3.4%) with otologic disease and so firth. The authors analysed those patients by month, sex, age, day of the week, and arrival time of the hospital. This is the report along with literature survey.
