ABSTRACT

Hemangiopericytoma, originally described by Stout and Murray, is a very rare vascular tumor composed of capillaries or endothelial sprouts and of proliferating pericytes. It may be benign or malignant. Author experienced a case of hemangiopericytoma occurred in the palatine tonsil of a 64-year-old Korean man. Under general anesthesia, through preliminary tracheostomy, the tumor measuring 5×4×3cm was dissected out. No local recurrence of metastasis occurred up to date (about two and half years after surgery).
