ABSTRACT

Less than 100 chondrosarcomas originating in the facial skeleton have been reported. Information regarding chondrosarcoma in the facial region is fragmentary. Precedence for therapy and prognostic information is not readily available. A case of chondrosarcoma of the maxillary sinus which occurred in a 42-year-old man was experienced. A total maxillectomy was performed and the palatal defect subsequently managed with a prosthesis. This patient is alive and well without evidence of tumor at more than 4 months since his treatment.
