ABSTRACT

Fibrin glue is currently used as an adjunct in otolaryngologic surgery and it has the definite advantage of being totally biodegradable compared with other surgical glues. This glue can be made from the patient's own blood therefore it is possible to exclude the risk of viral diseases and other immune reaction. Bonding power of autologous fibrin glue is related to its fibrinogen concentration, which decreased gradually by fibrinolytic enzyme system. And this fibrinolysis can be controlled by means of fibrinolysis inhibitor. The purpose of this study was to examine effectiveness of 3 kinds of fibrinolysis inhibitor ; Aprotinin, epsilon amino caproic acid(EACA), Tranexamic acid. The rate of fibrin degradation was decreased and the duration of autologous fibrin glue clots was prolonged enough to use clinically in all cases. And Aprotinin was found to be stronger inhibitor than others.
